Second Life Business Agent (or Avatar) Validation System
The internet has forever changed the way business is transacted. Because parties are physically separated and linked only by electrons, businesses and consumers alike must revisit the concept of identity and approaches to identification and authentication.
When doing business in Second Life, one needs to be reassured about the counterpartsī reliability.
Therefore sl4all offers the BAV concept as a service, providing clear identity mapping and appropriate procedures for distributing electronic credentials to individuals.
After validation the Second Life Agent is logged as a Business Agent, where after the system will subsequently allot him/her with an SL identification tag. This tag is placed on chest or belt of the SL avatar, and is as a result visible when travelling in Second Life.
How it works:
- Register:
Registration on this site is free. Creation of a new user account will return a password, sent to the set mailbox.
This initial password can be modified at any time, after login.
- Log in:
At receipt of the generated password, by email, you will also find a hyperlink which leads you to the site login.
Your Avatar Validation code is displayed on your account's main page. (looks like: BA-123456789-123)
This is the attributed authentication code for further Avatar validation in-world.
- Validate SL Avatar:
Go to Flanders1/185/85/23 and click (touch) the vamidation box (BAV-Box).
The box will asks for your Validation-Code, enter it in the chat-bar and say/shout it...
You'll get an IM when the validation is processed, or rejected. (this should take maximum 30 seconds)
Now Pay the BAV-Box L$ 300 for the letter-mail shipping costs. (See step 4: Validate RL Agent)
- Validate RL Agent:
When you have validated your SL Avatar in-world and payed the bav-box L$ 300, a letter will be send
to your addresse with a second validation code. (you can follow mail-status on your account's main page)
This will confirm you as RL person. So make sure you give us the right information when you register.
This can take some time if you're not living in europe. Caus our office is located in Belgium.
Login on this site, again... to submit your RL validation code at your account's main page.
- Get your BAV-pass:
When you have validated your RL Agent on this site, go back to Flanders1/185/85/23 and click/touch
the BAV-Box again. It will detect you as a validated B.A. and give you your BAV-pass (inventory item).
Wear the BAV-pass, so other B.A.'s can see you're validated. Right-click and choose WEAR on the bav-pass, who should be located in your inventory now.
